Privacy
This text covers the RidePlay test build. For questions, write to the person who invited you.
In short
- No account or sign-in. No ads, analytics, or tracking.
- Your rides, parking spot, maintenance records, and settings stay on your phone.
- Some features send your location to the services below, directly from your phone.
Test code
The app downloads a list of code hashes from this site and compares your code on the phone. Your code is not sent to the server. The list has no names or email addresses. The server sees your IP address, as with any internet request.
Data sent to your bike
The dash picture, route guidance, weather, the song title, and incoming call notices go to the unit on your bike. RidePlay sends them nowhere else.
Outside services that use your location
- Apple (iPhone only): place search, routes, maps.
- Open-Meteo: weather, approximate location.
- OpenStreetMap Overpass: fuel stations, speed limits, speed cameras.
- OSRM, Nominatim, OpenFreeMap (Android): routes, address search, maps.
- Google short links: only when you share a place from Google Maps.
Connection log
The troubleshooting log stays on your phone. It goes to the person you choose only when you tap "Send log". It may include your bike ID.
Permissions
Bluetooth connects to the bike, location powers routes and ride logs, motion gives lean angle, the camera reads the QR code and takes parking photos, and notifications deliver alerts. You can turn these off in your phone settings.
